IT Risk Consulting Specialist - PwC

Locatie: Amsterdam
You will be involved in assessing the impact of Agile/DevOps on traditional based IT processes, re-design IT risk/control frameworks that take into consideration the IT automation and flexible architecture which are increasingly introduced at our clients with the adoption of DevOps.

We are looking for ambitious colleagues within the Risk Assurance department. You will be part of a dynamic and international team with real enthusiasm for resolving complex issues in the field of IT Risk Management. You will work with the client and will have the opportunity to utilise your analytical and communication skills to make the decisive difference.

As an experienced IT Risk Specialist, you will be involved in assessing the impact of Agile/DevOps on traditional (ITIL/COBIT) based IT processes, re-design IT risk/control frameworks that take into consideration the IT automation and flexible architecture (i.e. cloud) which are increasingly introduced at our clients with the adoption of DevOps.

Through client interviews, data analyses, and observations, you will cooperate with your team to improve internal (automated) IT processes and controls in relation to relevant legislative and regulatory issues.

Who are you?

You’re ambitious and you’re committed to your own development and to seizing opportunities. You want to develop your talents, both in terms of your discipline and in social skills and relationships. You also recognise these qualities as applying to you:

  • You are a university graduate with a genuine interest in software development and coding;
  • You have relevant experience in IT issues relating to financial legislation and regulations, internal controls, risk control and/or IT risk management;
  • You have a strong affinity with IT and keep yourself up-to-date with developments; preferably familiar with the tech stack i.e. Git, GitHub, Docker, Jira, AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • You want to carry out advisory work in the field of IT risk management;
  • You like working on various client assignments in a team and on a project basis.

What does your job look like?

You will be a member of the IT risk consulting team, specialising in various types of clients, and you will work together with colleagues in multidisciplinary project teams. Your clients will be banks, insurance companies, asset managers, and real estate/pension funds that are mainly located in the Randstad conurbation. You will work both at the client’s premises and at PwC’s offices. This makes the work varied and enables you to observe the business processes within different organisations.

You will be able to work specifically on the common strategic themes that energise you, and will provide day-to-day coaching for less experienced members of the team. You will be in charge of your own agenda and can also contribute, for example, by giving training courses or workshops on the impact of new legislation or technologies.

Laurens Jan Terwee joined the Risk Assurance Financial Services team four years ago as an IT auditor and is now one of the team members working primarily in IT risk consulting:

“Starting my career as an IT auditor has given me a unique view on IT and data. As an IT auditor you are always thinking about the reliability and appropriateness of reports and data, a concern which is becoming increasingly important in a digital society. A typical engagement for me is working as an embedded team member within the client asking the difficult questions and challenging the status quo. What I appreciate most about my job is the freedom to investigate and advise on the topics that I feel are most important to get the job done.”
