The opportunity

Our Consulting team is providing a wide range of (technology) risk services including control automation, GRC software implementation, (IT) Internal Audit, (IT) SOX, Business Continuity Management, IT audits and large program quality assurance. Many, if not all, business transformations have significant impact on Technology. In fact, many transformations are a consequence of developments in Technology. We therefore are looking for a candidate to lead and accelerate the growth of the IT Risk team within our Netherlands Consulting Practice.

Your key responsibilities

Building a team of Technology Risk specialist creating trust in the design and operations of our clients IT environment. You will be responsible for building a high performing team in terms of GoToMarket, developing talent and exceeding customer expectation.

All team members are expected to contribute to the development and success of the team. This means participating fully in the team activities, meetings, workshops and sharing knowledge. Within the context of building a high performing team, specific responsibilities to the role include growth of:

  • Market share when it comes to IT Governance related service across the 3 LOD
  • The team with IT Audit/ Controls and Risk capabilities.
  • Within the context of client engagements, specific responsibilities include:
  • Gaining an understanding of the clients' IT applications and infrastructure to determine the effectiveness of the control environment through performing and reviewing process walkthroughs
  • Reviewing detailed analysis of the control environment to gain assurance over effective operation of controls
  • Identifying control weaknesses and any mitigating controls
  • Reviewing working papers and supporting evidence in line with internal compliance requirements
  • Effectively articulating control findings to key client stakeholders.

EY will provide comprehensive training, which will build on your existing skills. Training available includes: Transformative leadership skills, Inhouse Tech MBA, Cybersecurity, Project management, Business continuity planning, Cloud, Agile, Operating systems, ERP applications, Report writing, Marketing and sales.

Skills and attributes for success

  • You should hold an IT qualification, preferably RE, and have at least 4 years’ experience in IT internal audit, IT financial audit or IT risk management.  This is likely to have been gained in external audit, internal audit, IT consulting or within an IT department
  • The role will require strong IT / business risk and control assessment skills.  You should be comfortable working in an IT environment and be interested in further developing this area of your expertise 
  • Strong commercial awareness with ability to understand IT / business environments and identify risks / solutions
  • You must have a proven track record of outstanding performance and display a high level of people and business skills

To qualify for the role you must have

  • You are certified in IT audit (RE or CISA Qualification) and have knowledge and experience of one or more of the following areas: IT audit, Information security / cybersecurity, IT SOX, IT Risk framework development or execution, IT Controls design and/ or assessment
  • We expect you to have a clear vision on the future role of IT in this transformative age and how you, together with our teams, can help in building trust for your customers
  • We will be looking for high-energy candidates with courage to lead and a can-do attitude 
  • Highly professional with ability to work in challenging, diverse and evolving client environments
  • Commercial skills
  • Flexible with the ability to learn quickly and leverage skills in new situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – English and preferably also Dutch
  • The ability to build strong client relationships
  • Strong team working skills are essential
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Flexible, with the ability to learn quickly and leverage skills in new situations
  • The ability to deliver multiple/parallel project

Ideally you will also have

  • Experience working in a Big 4 firm or Big 4 (-1) firm and have had exposure working in a client facing role
  • Accounting or Internal Audit qualifications
  • Knowledge of IT industry practice methodologies (e.g. CobiT, ITIL, NIST) is preferable
